This is the bit where we write our love letter to Melbourne in winter. Because instead of hitting snooze while we wait for summer, we turn up the volume and keep the party going even harder.

Treat yourself to some well-deserved retail therapy at Emporium or the famous Block Arcade, then head to the NGV for their incredible Melbourne Winter Masterpieces® Exhibition Pharaoh.
Rug up and open your mind in the moonlight at RISING - an outdoor arts festival featuring works from hundreds of international artists. Or, if you're in the mood for sports, Melbourne in winter is the place to be: there's the AFL, soccer, rugby, netball, and so much more.
And after all that any number of secret bars, inviting pubs or restaurants to feast in, from fast to fabulously fancy. Head into the CBD and grab a bite at Gimlet, Big Esso by Mabu Mabu, or one of Spring Street's pre-theatre restaurants, then take your seats at an evening showing of the latest smash hits.
All this, and more is why Melbourne truly is Australia's most magical winter city. And after a visit you might just find that winter is your new favourite season.
