1. Miss Amelie

Miss Amelie became one of Wodonga's premier contemporary dining experiences under former owner and chef David Kapay. In 2023, he handed the reins to his trusted lieutenant, head chef Isaac Rich, whom Kapay still mentors. Located inside the old Wodonga railway station,  Miss Amelie remains unmissable, offering up two, three or six courses of fine dining, each with an optional wine pairing. 

2. Stefano's Restaurant

Stefano's Restaurant opened in 1991 in Mildura’s historic Grand Hotel by cook and wine producer, Stefano de Pieri and the Carrazza family and has since become an institution in the region. The restaurant, cafe and preserves store is a celebration of life through food, wine, art and what it means to be Italian. 

3. Sunset Poolside Bar

Chill out by the pool and enjoy a lazy day in the sun with a drink in hand at Sunset Poolside Bar. The vibrant bar is known for its infinity pool overlooking Lake Mulwala in Yarrawonga and its signature cocktails.

4. Blacksmith Provedore

Soak up contemporary European-style elegance at Blacksmith Provedore, which is nestled on the banks of picturesque, Lake Mulwala. Taste some of the Murray region's finest wines and boutique beers and nibble on a range of cheese and charcuterie platters. Or, sate hearty appetites with a homemade pizza feast. 

5. The Sweet Meadow

Embrace the sweet side of life at The Sweet Meadow, a vegetarian cafe in the heart of Echuca. The cafe focuses on fresh food from the earth that nourishes your body, with all food made on-site from local ingredients, prepared with minimal fuss. 

6. The River Deck

A short walk from central Albury, you'll find The River Deck. Surrounded by lush parkland and the spectacular Murray River, the cafe is the perfect spot for breakfast and lunch and is only a short stroll from nearby attractions, like the Albury Botanical Gardens and the bustle of Dean Street. 

7. Trentham Estate Winery

Head to scenic Trentham Cliffs, 15-minutes out of Mildura and settle in for a relaxing afternoon of fine wine, great food and even better company at Trentham Estate Winery. Nestled on the banks of the Murray River, the cosy cellar door offers tastings and sales of its vast range of wines produced on-site, while the restaurant offers panoramic views of the river and surrounding estate with a culinary experience that's fresh and simple with a touch of class. 

8. Morrisons Riverview Winery & Restaurant

In Moama, along the banks of the famous Murray River, you'll find Morrisons Riverview Winery & Restaurant. The boutique winery has six gorgeous hectares of vines producing warm-climate sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, moscato, shiraz and sparkling varieties. 

Outside, you can picnic by the water or playground, which gets the occasional kangaroo pop in for a hello or a chorus of kookaburras fluttering in. While the indoor restaurant offers views of the river with a menu that heroes regional produce. Pop in on the weekend for a spot of live music, and if wine isn’t your thing, grab a small-batch ale or cider from 1710 Brew Co, which is located on-site. 

9. KIN

Destination dining at its finest, the menu at KIN is inspired by family recipes and childhood memories, made with the finest local produce. Sip heritage wines from All Saints Estate with varieties that celebrate local and international varieties, from both the old world and new. Think the rarest back vintages and world-renowned muscats. 

10. The Italian Mildura

Celebrate Mildura's Calabrian and Sicilian migrant community with a feed at The Italian Mildura. Pop in at lunch for the popular paninoteca, or select a made-to-order ciabatta roll filled with fresh ingredients sourced from small-scale producers in the region. Get your caffeine fix with a high-quality Italian-style coffee roasted with beans from Seven Seeds in Melbourne, and finish your dining experience with a sweet traditional dessert.
