A celebration of Australian film
The Peninsula Film Festival came from humble beginnings (500 people in a cinema), to become an anticipated celebration of Australian film and homegrown talent. Held every summer, the festival is now a three-day event set to the backdrop of the peninsula's crystal coastline.
Thousands of people make the pilgrimage to the festival to see up to 20 shortlisted films screened outdoors and judged by a panel of celebrity judges. Some of the film categories include Best Animation, Best Documentary and Best International. In addition to these categories, there is the Woodleigh School Emerging Filmaker Award. The total prize pool for the event is $30,000.
* Please note, films shown at the festival are unclassified and recommended viewing age is 15 plus.
