Overview

Hop on a bus, hire a car or lash out and charter a chopper, and before long you'll be on top of the world at Mount Buller. An easy three-hour drive from Melbourne, Mount Buller is the most accessible major snow resort in Australia and a premier ski destination for snow enthusiasts from across the nation and around the world. Take in spectacular views as you whiz down the slopes on skis, snowboard or toboggan on an exhilarating day trip, extended holiday or cheeky mid-week break.

Raring to go

Spend your time on the slopes, not in queues. Mount Buller's impressive lift network is the largest in Victoria, with 20 lifts capable of moving 40,000 people an hour, including a high-speed 6-seater express lift. Skiers and snowboarders get access to over 300 hectares of terrain, with something to appeal to all levels of ability. Novice or pro, the resort's varied runs range from gentle slopes to challenging back runs, plus there are three terrain parks and two toboggan parks.

Spas, huskies and nighttime thrills

Be dazzled by the wide variety of activities on offer. Set out across the slopes with a band of huskies on a sled dog tour, take in views of the mountain on scenic chairlift rides, and indulge with relaxation packages from Australia's highest day spa.

Looking to get a little charged up? Sign up for ski and snowboarding competitions, helicopter flights and a little night skiing. If you've come up with the family, take the kids on a magical Gnome Roam adventure or escape to the cinema for a quiet hour or two.

What's on

There's no shortage of competitive and social events going on every week up on the mountain. Go BIG at Buller Big Air, where athletes on the Snow Australia pathway are invited to compete for their spot on the podium. Bring the little ones along for Kids' Week or revel in the colour and old-school vibes during Retro Weekend, as the mountain rewinds the clock to the 80s and 90s.

At the village

Veer off the slopes and into Mount Buller Village to your own comfortable bed. Wake up to stunning snowy vistas and be back on the slopes in next to no time. Mount Buller has more on-mountain accommodation than any other ski resort in Victoria. With over 7,000 on-mountain beds, there are options for all tastes and budgets, from basic backpacker-style accommodation and self-contained apartments to private lodges and luxurious alpine retreats.

Looking for a quick dinner or in celebration mode? There are over 30 bars and restaurants serving up a range of delectable treats, from fast snacks to fine dining, and buzzing nightlife into the wee hours.
