Wander Victoria at its botanical best in spring. Flower shows and festivals spring up in regional villages, private gardens fling open their gates to show off their blooms, and historic botanic gardens embrace the change of season. Ring in spring and see Victoria in full bloom.

Gardens galore

Stroll lush landscaped lawns, see stunning floral displays and centuries-old trees at historic gardens.

In the Dandenong Ranges, celebrate cherry blossom season (September) with a picnic at the Dandenong Ranges Botanic Garden, Olinda, home to thousands of rhododendrons, azaleas, camellias and daffodils. Meander among stone walls, hedges and garden rooms at nearby Cloudehill Gardens, and along the linked paths that wend through the Alfred Nicholas Gardens, Sherbrooke.

Explore the beautifully ornate gardens of the Goldfields. Put Ballarat and Castlemaine Botanical Gardens on your bouquet list and allow plenty of time for acres of open space at Rosalind Park, Bendigo.

On the Mornington Peninsula, take in hues and views at Heronswood House and Garden in Dromana and lose yourself in fragrant Ashcombe Maze & Lavender Gardens in Shoreham.

Lavender fields at Lavandula Swiss-Italian Farm lead you to Daylesford and the Macedon Ranges, where you'll see the Garden of St Erth carpeted with daffodils each September.

Wildflowers and native flowers are in full bloom across the landscape in spring, and in curated form at flower shows in October.
