The Herb and Chilli Festival started in 2012 as a local celebration of herbs and chilli. Clive and Di Larkman run it to promote the range of herbs, chillis and other edibles grown under their Renaissance Herbs’ brand.
The Festival is a must attend part Melbourne’s food and wine scene. A two day celebration of herbs and chillis in food, drinks, sauces, plants and the cultures associated with cuisines that focus on spice and flavour. There are 90 vendors selling dishes from over 15 cuisines, stages with cooking, music (2020 has the amazing Aussie band Psycho Zydecho), cultural dance troupes, a competition stage with Hellfire Chicken Wing Challenge, Captain Chilli plus more and the Australian Chilli Cook-off with public tastings and voting.
Under 14's are free with jumping castles, face painting, pony rides and animal farm (all free). A range of boutique beer, local wine, excellent coffee, the world's hottest dimmies plus Australia's best hot sauce companies. There are spice blends, jams, jerky, chocolate, deserts, nuts, fresh fruit ice cream and lots more. Each year there are new Chilli products to stimulate and challenge.
The event is for everyone who enjoys the good things in life.
