The Steels Gate story centers on winemakers Brad Atkins and Matthew Davis who have been producing wine from their ‘Home Block’ at the very top of Steels Creek in the Yarra Valley since 2010. Surrounding themselves with passionate people, they are building a boutique destination in the Yarra Valley that is quickly developing a great reputation. For the penultimate Wine & Stories dinner for 2020, the boys are keen to talk to you on the concept of being ‘true vignerons’; meaning they grow the grapes and make the wine all in house, as a team.
Tonight, Eleonore’s presents ‘Pasta-Night’; one that talks to collaboration and relationships. We discussed shellfish ravioli to begin with, a meaty ragu with linguine to match their Shiraz and to finish, a dark chocolate ravioli with their Cabernet. We’re not saying this is the final menu specifically, it’s just where our imaginations went while discussing the event over a glass of Riesling.
