Echoes of the past
Take a tour of the old fort at Fort Nepean and explore the historical precinct that houses the original Quarantine Station. Get a glimpse of Victoria's early years and wander through the gun emplacements, barracks tunnels and the old engine house. Find out about the famous guns of Fort Nepean and how they fired the first shot of the British Empire in World War Two.
Coastal trails
Walk or cycle the coastal trails around the park and take in expansive views of Port Phillip Bay, The Rip and the wild waters of Bass Strait. Choose from a range of walks including the Fort Nepean Discovery Walk, Gunners Cottage Walk and Wilsons Folly Walk. Bikes can be hired at the information centre.
Traditional owners
Victoria's Indigenous people are the traditional owners of the Point Nepean National Park and have inhabited the area for tens of thousands of years. These Indigenous sites make up part of Australia's heritage so please show respect when visiting.
