Celebrate creativity in the culture capital
See Melbourne become a canvas for creatives to explore their artistic expression during Creative October – a month long celebration of homegrown and renowned talent, from musicians to fashion designers, photographers and makers and creators from all walks of life.
The city will be a flurry of activity, with events popping up in the heart of Melbourne and surrounding neighbourhoods. Turn up the volume for The Eighty-Six, the biggest party the 86 tramline has ever seen. More than 40 curators will take over bars, nightclubs, record stores and more on October 28 for Super Saturday. This free event will showcase Melbourne's multi-faceted live music scene, as attendees journey through everything from rock to jazz from mid-morning until sunrise on Sunday.
Channel your inner fashionista at Melbourne Fashion Week, with a jam-packed program showcasing the best in Australian fashion. Take a front row seat at a runway show, join a hands-on workshop or marvel at a pop-up fashion moment from October 23-29.
Or, for a different perspective on the world around us, the iconic State Library of Victoria is hosting a new exhibit, MIRROR: New views on photography throughout October. This free exhibit displays more than 140 photographs from Victorian storytellers that hold a mirror to the world and express the innermost thoughts and feelings of creatives through a contemporary lens.
