The Dax Centre

30 Royal Parade, Kenneth Myer Building, University of Melbourne, Parkville, Victoria, 3052

The Dax Centre is a leader in the use of art to raise awareness and reduce stigma towards mental health issues. Through the exhibitions and educational programs they seek to engage, inform and encourage community connections and conversations about mental health.

The Dax Centre houses the Cunningham Dax Collection of over 16,000 artworks created by people with an experience of mental health issues and/or psychological trauma. The art includes works on paper, paintings, photographs, poems, textiles, sculpture, journals and digital media. The unique Cunningham Dax Collection is one of the largest of its kind, with only two other similar collections of comparable size and stature in the world.

The Dax Centre is co-located in the University of Melbourne and complements the many other art and cultural programs and collections found there. It is accessible by public transport and there is adequate parking.

Free entry. The Dax Centre relies on donations to continue its programs promoting mental health.
