The Twelve Apostles
One of Australia’s most well-known views. Marvel at the sight of the magnificent limestone sea stacks that rise from the Southern Ocean and form the official Twelve Apostles.
Created by the constant erosion of limestone cliffs over 10-20 million years, these monoliths have faced the stormy Southern Ocean and gusty winds that have gradually worn away the softer limestone, forming caves in the cliffs, then arches, until rock stacks up to 45 metres high have been formed, completely isolated from the shore.
A fantastic way to see the Twelve Apostles is from within a helicopter. Scenic flights depart from the visitor centre and prices start from $145.00 for a 15-minute flight. Please speak with your tour guide on the day to arrange time for this.
