Armadale

Stop 43 – Mercer Road / High Street

Hop on or off at Stop 43, and wander straight into Armadale's high-end shopping strip on High Street. Pick up a designer piece at Australian fashion boutiques Mister Zimi and Rebecca Vallance, and indulge at Primness and Scanlan Theodore. Say yes to the dress – some of the best bridal shopping in Melbourne is found along this strip.

Pop into local art galleries to view the latest collections – check out Silver K Gallery and Metro Gallery.

Dine in at local favourite cafe Moby for all-day brunch. If you're keen to sip a cup of Five Senses coffee – or a cheeky daytime cocktail – refuel at 8Days Cafe.

Settle in for the night or grab a takeaway tinny from Otter's Promise, a bottle shop and beer bar stocking more than 300 brews in the fridge. Those looking for an exquisite degustation experience can book for dinner at two-hatted restaurant Amaru.

Prahran

Stop 31 – Chapel Street / High Street

Alight at Stop 31 and head straight up to Prahran Market to browse local produce, cheese, meats, seafood and artisan chocolate. Restore yourself with a cup of Joe from Market Lane Coffee.

Wander back down Chapel Street to Greville Street and poke around its collection of cafes, restaurants and speciality shops. Tuck in to a steak at Angus & Bon and peruse all the coolest vinyl and tunes at Greville Records.

Still hungry? Back on High Street, go nuts for doughnuts at Bistro Morgan or revive with a coffee and snack at Midtown. Continue your stroll along retail-rich Chapel Street.

Sit down for dinner on High Street at Vietnamese hotspot Firebird by the Hanoi Hannah crew, grab takeaway at their Express Lane outlet, or opt for pizza and European vino at Ladro TAP back on Greville Street. For something special, sip cocktails at Promise Bar, a gorgeous spot hidden at the back of a cafe at 173 High.

Arts Precinct

Stop 14 – Arts Precinct

Wander the winding paths of the lush Royal Botanic Gardens, taking in the 8,500 plant species that thrive in the gardens. Stop for a picnic, or take a walking tour.

Leap and bound your way over to the State Theatre – part of the Arts Centre – to catch the latest ballet, opera or musical performance in the magnificent 2000-seat theatre. Pop in to the NGV International to explore permanent collections and world-class exhibitions behind the iconic waterwall.

Feast upon the best of Italy at Fatto, smack your lips over Argentinian barbecue at Asado, and raise a glass to riverside views at Arbory Bar, Arbory Afloat and Ponyfish Island.

For something a little different, hire a GoBoat and travel up the Yarra River, taking in the sights of Melbourne from a whole new perspective.

Melbourne Central

Stop 8 – Melbourne Central Station

Jump off at Stop 8 and stroll over to giant retailer Melbourne Central. Shop your way through 300-plus big-name retailers and smaller, specialty stores. Don't miss the Little Library (free book exchange), the giant marionette fob watch and historic Shot Tower Square, all encased within the extravagant glass cone structure.

Worked up an appetite? Grab a literary-style lunch and beany beverage at Mr Tulk or The Guild at the State Library Victoria.

Kick on after hours at Curtain House, a multi-purpose venue starring a cinema, Cookie restaurant and a rooftop bar. Or fly into BYRDI – named among Melbourne's Top 50 bars by Good Food Guide 2022. Choose a cocktail, highball or ferment from a changing seasonal menu, with the flavours of Australia taking a hero role.

Carlton

Stop 112 – Lygon St / Elgin St

Find yourself in the Med at Stop 112 along Lygon Street's Little Italy strip. Ground zero for Melbourne's espresso obsession, it's also home to plenty of venues encouraging late-night wining and dining.

Browse shelf upon shelf of local and international books, music and movies at nearby Readings, Australian Book Retailer of the Year in 2021.

Dip into compact Heartattack and Vine for a quick coffee and pastry, or people-watch from the pavement tables of veterans Tiamo and Brunetti Classico. Your animal-free needs are covered at corner pub The Green Man's Arms. Order a classic pub favourite with a twist from the entirely plant-based, Israeli-inspired menu.

Digest with dolce from Pidapipó, one of many gelaterie along the street, then close out the night with stellar 360-degree skyline views from rooftop bar Johnny's Green Room.
