Named after his daughter, Matilda is a passion project of Melbourne chef extraordinaire Scott Pickett (ESP, Estelle Bistro, Saint Crispin). The emphasis is on local seafood and meats prepared over hot coals and open flames. It's a more casual approach than the fine-dining lean of some of his other venues, with an expressed intent to create an atmosphere of comfort and warmth – but the seasonally driven flavours are just as outstanding.
