Mapping Melbourne is an annual festival presented by MAV that celebrates Asian Australian identity with a compelling program of events, premieres and releases of thought-provoking creative works by culturally diverse and self-determined artists.
In its eighth and final year, Mapping Melbourne 2020 will be a virtual festival, enabling people from around the world to explore the artworks, delve into the program’s themes and engage with the artists through live events.
Mapping Melbourne 2020 will explore subjects of diaspora, connectiveness, global relationships and the power of the creative voice. The festival will also respond to the unique moment in time and the impacts of COVID-19 to international creativity.
The festival will open on Thursday 3rd of December 2020 with a spectacular virtual launch event featuring official proceedings, the short film premiere of Joelistics Presents Film School by acclaimed Malaysian-Australian Producer Joelistics and live interviews with some of the festival’s artists.
The festival will run from 3 December 2020 to 28 January 2021 and you can tune into free events or view the works via the website or Facebook page.
