Hankering for a sweet treat but regular supermarket options won’t do? Dial snack o’clock up a notch with a fat, gooey cookie from one of Melbourne’s best sugary haunts.
The Cookie Box

Take a bite into a doughy artisanal cookie from The Cookie Box for a mouthful of joy. Choose from classic chocolate chip or triple chocolate options or get fancy with a dulce de leche filled churro delight. With stores on Little Collins Street in Melbourne, Fitzroy, Windsor and Hawthorn, your cookie fix is just around the corner.
The Cake Club
From humble beginnings as home bakers, two Melbourne women have joined forces to bring a slice of their home kitchens to Melbourne’s south-east with The Cake Club in Armadale.

While all things sweet are on offer in this boutique shop, the New York-style cookies are an absolute must-try. We’re talking white chocolate raspberry, Biscoff, strawberry matcha and all sorts of yummy flavour creations.
Cookie Culture
Bite into a loaded cookie from Cookie Culture in Brunswick. Did someone say Dubai pistachio and oreo Mcflurry options? Colour us impressed.
The Confectionist

The iconic Degraves Street has cooked up a tasty pit-stop for your next trip to Melbourne – a sweet morsel from The Confectionist. Grab a homegrown lamington cookie, spiced chai or Nutella smores delight, or try a tasty butter cookie iced with clever art, like depictions of adjacent Flinders Street Station.
My Cookie Factory
Take a trip to Melbourne’s southside to wander the aisles at the iconic South Melbourne Market, home to all things homemade from local produce to artisanal jewellery. Be sure to make a pit-stop at My Cookie Factory. Here, you can sample drool-worthy jumbo cookies made fresh on site. Expect gooey centres and crispy edges in all sorts of flavours, including peanut butter and birthday cake varieties.
Chonky Co
Treat yourself to sweet lashings of soft serve swirled over an oven-warmed jumbo cookie at Chonky Co in the bustling seaside hub of Mordialloc, less than an hour from Melbourne. With loaded brownies, ice cream, gourmet rocky road and of course, the ever-popular New York-style cookie on offer, your tastebuds will go into a blissful sugary overload.

Our favourite is the M&M oreo cookie, but the bueno one is also high on the list. The best part is that you can take your afternoon treat and eat it while watching waves lap against the shore on the beach.
Bake Me Cake Me
Bake Me Cake Me is the super cute feminine bakery right out of our dreams. Located along Burwood Highway in the inner-city suburb of Hawthorn, the bakery specialises in fat, super gooey, super indulgent loaded cookies, inspired by the owner’s time spent in New York City.
The flavours on offer are also distinctive to other cookie shops, with distinct combinations like gingerbread house and peppermint crisp on the menu. We also recommend trying their take on the beloved wagon wheel and tim tam which always go down a treat.
The Cookie Dough Co
Head to Chapel Street in Windsor to shop vintage wares and drink curated cocktails at everything from jazz and wine bars to laid-back pubs. While you’re there, pop into The Cookie Dough Co for a super fat brownie loaded cookie or fresh take on the hot jam donut – hot tip, it’s in cookie form. Vegan options are also available.
