Beechworth Historic Goldfield Tours offers three separate journeys with a
1) Woolshed Valley Gold/Ned Kelly tour
2) Alluvial Hydrolic Sluicing tour.
3) Lower Nine Mile Hard Rock tour
Get a sense of the tough living conditions and the hardship that the 1860's gold miners experienced.
Depending on your chosen journey, you'll be offered a glimpses of the past and an understanding of the determination of the miners through visual and physical evidence.
Travelling comfortably in an air-conditioned four-wheel-drive vehicle, dive into Beechworth's rich gold mining history.
Tours operate on weekends and public holidays departing either 9:00am or 1:00pm each day. Tours on other days may be offered by prior arrangement.
On tour three, there is bush walking involved, a medium level of fitness is recommended. The longest distance is 600 to 700 metres with a 10-15 degree slope. This tour does not go underground.
Depending on the chosen tour, price ranges as stated above. Tour times range from 90 minutes to three hours. Maximum capacity is six persons. Tours can be varied by prior arrangement depending on customer requirements (Alternate locations within the area).
Air conditioned travel with an experienced driver/guide in the comfort of a small group environment. Visit historic sites and be informed of the history surrounding then. Many great photo opportunities and a chance to understand the harshness that forefathers faced just to survive.

- Various historic sites and locations of significance
Depending on your journey, 1) Alluvial gold workings, through Panning and dredging, stand where "Ned Kelly" history was made. Sites of townships long disappeared and more. 2) Alluvial and Hydrolic Sluicing sites - excellent views from high vantage points and a glimps of the the Hard Rock mining that followed the Gold Rush. 3) Hard Rock Mining were you will come across mine shafts, mines, living sites, battery sites and much more. You will experience a glimpse of the past and an understanding of the determination of the miners through visual and physical evidence.
