Twilight Kangaroo Tours at Anglesea Golf Club

Management has temporarily suspended Kangaroo Tours, due to coronavirus precautions for the safety of guests and drivers. They shall keep you updated.

In the beautiful hinterland of the Great Ocean Road, Anglesea Golf Club is home to around 300 Eastern Grey Kangaroos. Since 2015, the Club has been hosting 25 minute guided Kangaroo Tours which attracts visitors from around the world.

During the Australian Summer months from December through to February Twilight Tours operate form 4:00pm to 7:00pm. This extends the normal daily operating hours of 10:00am-4:00pm. The open-air electric vehicles have a seating capacity for 14.

On your 25-minute guided tour, their drivers will share interesting facts while taking you to suitable areas to disembark for photos and visit favorite locations, where kangaroos graze and rest. This gives real meaning to the experience of “being up close and personal” with these Australian native icons. If you’re lucky, you might even see a joey (baby kangaroo), peeking from its mother’s pouch.

The tours are closed on Christmas Day 25 December and Good Friday and Anzac Day 25 April mornings. In extreme weather conditions, the Golf Club management reserves the right to cancel tours for the safety of visitors.

Tour highlights:
  • Kangaroo Tours on Private Tracks of Golf Course
Our tour stops several times while driving around the private pathways of the golf course. This allows visitors the chance to quietly disembark and move close to kangaroos who are maybe resting, feeding or sunning themselves...and sometimes you'll find the mothers with "Joeys" in their pouches. These stops are wonderful opportunities for capturing memorable photos of your visit. Twilight Tours are wonderful to do in the Summer months, at the end of a beach day, or touring the Great Ocean Road. It is usually a quieter time of the day when not so many golfers will be playing. You'll be going home with amazing memories and images of this unique Australian experience. All of this is made more interesting by our well trained volunteer tour guides, who provide interesting facts about kangaroo life cycles and more.
