Overview

Leave the road behind and plough into the pristine wilderness that surrounds the Great Ocean Road. Enjoy a thrill ride through the lush rainforest, hinterland and native bushland that make up the stunning Otway Ranges. Choose from purpose-built mountain-bike tracks and undulating terrain that's crying out to be explored.

Purpose-built mountain-bike trails

Check out the Forrest Mountain Bike Trails, considered to be some of the best in Australia. Take your pick of 16 mountain bike trails, spanning more than 65 kilometres, which cut through the bush terrain of Great Otway National Park. Test your skills and speed as you pass through tall eucalypt forests and dense fern gullies, encountering everything from downhill runs, climbs and jumps to berms, logs and narrow gaps.

Perfect your jumps at the Anglesea Bike Park Mountain Cross Track, Victoria's first professionally designed loop and jumps track. Or for a more relaxed cycling adventure, take a slow ride along the 45-kilometre Old Beechy Rail Trail.

Other off-road opportunities

Delve into the scenic bushy surrounds of Anglesea on one of many local mountain bike trails. Popular rides span through Anglesea Heath and the Eumeralla Track Network around the Anglesea Bike Park, where there's a mix of cross-country trails for bikers of varying ability and age.
