The first stage of the trail is a two-day walk to Borough Huts or a three-day return trip to Halls Gap. A popular walking area for many years, this section has been upgraded with navigation markers to better service overnight hikers.

This loop walk takes you from Halls Gap to Borough Huts and back again, past the ancient rock features of the Grand Canyon and taking in views from the Pinnacle Lookout and the rugged mountain peaks atop Mount Rosea.

Spend the first night in the southern end of the Wonderland Range at Bugiga, an exclusive, sustainable Grampians Peaks Trail camp, or further along at the Stony Creek Hikers Camp for groups. Either finish your walk on the second day at Borough Huts, or camp overnight and continue back to Halls Gap on the third day.
