Soak up the sounds of nocturnal wildlife in a bush tent or rammed earth cabin. Watch the sun rise and warm up over a billy tea in the morning before continuing your adventure.
A slower pace
See ancient Aboriginal rock art sites around Wartook before venturing out to nearby Mount Zero, Hollow Mountain and Mount Staplyton to explore the walking tracks that cut across the slopes. Spend a day visiting the gorges, lagoons and fern gullies around the MacKenzie and Beehive falls while you're in the area.
Drive by some of the largest olive groves in Victoria on your way out and stop off at local farm gates to stock up on quality olive oils and fresh produce.
