Overview
Travel along the Gippsland Phoenix Art Trail and take home a vibrant abstract painting or adorn your hands and ears with an intricate piece of jewellery. The trail showcases the artistic spirit of photographers, painters, jewellers, ceramicists and sculptors, as well as fabric designers, knitters and even a robot maker.
The Phoenix Art Trail was created after fires devastated much of the area in 2020 and aims to help rebuild the local tourism sector. Renowned for its picturesque countryside, the East Gippsland region is also a cultural hub housing sleek museums, quirky galleries and one-of-a-kind artists’ studios.
Visit the centre for visual arts at the East Gippsland Art Gallery in Bairnsdale, discover the intricacies of wood-fired pottery by artist Malcolm Boyd in Fernbank; and admire contemporary art at Lilly Pilly Studios in Metung.
The trail can be visited year-round and has more than 30 venues to choose from.
