Mirboo North Italian Festa

Baromi Park, Ridgway, Mirboo North, Victoria, 3871
10 Feb 2019

The Mirboo North Italian Festa is a free family day celebrating all things Italian. Set in Baromi Park, the day will feature over 40 fabulous food stalls of Italian favourites with a full afternoon of on stage entertainment including music, singing, dancing, comedy, as well as spaghetti eating and grape stomping competitions.

Food is the hero with cooking demonstrations by real Italian Nonnas and guest chefs with Nonna's Secret Recipe cookbook available for sale.

The highlight will be performances by the Sbandietori di Faenza - 14 Flag throwers all the way from Italy who will perform the medieval art of tossing and catching flags, dressed in costumes accompanied by trumpets and drums. This first time in Victoria spectacular demonstration can only be seen in the towns of villages of Italy.

Add free kids activities, market stalls, and outdoor drinks areas selling Italian beers, wines and the ever popular Aperol Spritz.

For those interested the day starts at 10:00am with an outdoor Mass celebrating St. Paul - Patron Saint of the many Italians who migrated to Mirboo North in the 1950s, a tradition still alive in Italy and carried on in Australia today.
