buildings, wetlands and the Living Museum of the West. A little further on, a steep climb to the scenic lookout at Lily St is rewarded with magnificent views along the river and of the city skyline. Continuing through native bushland and attractive river reserves, the trail passes under towering bridges of the Melbourne-Sydney rail line and Western Ring Road to end at Brimbank Park. Cradled in a bend of the river and surrounded by cliffs, the park's stately river red gums, open grasslands and restored wetlands are the ideal setting for a well-earned picnic.
