State and regional parks 

Make a beeline for camping areas in state and regional parks, including Lerderderg State Park and Hepburn Regional Park.

Mt Franklin, Hepburn Regional Park
The sheltered extinct volcanic crater of Mount Franklin provides ideal surroundings for a picnic or short term camping. Panoramic views can be obtained from the summit. Drive two kilometres off the Midland Highway (Daylesford-Castlemaine Road).

O'Briens Crossing, Lerderderg State Park
This camping area is located beside Lerderderg River and flanked by steep, wild slopes. It offers a true bush experience. Access from O'Briens Road.
