Torquay is Australia's surf capital. The beach culture influence is everywhere and the overriding beach and surfing themes of the town are effervescent throughout and are reflected in many aspects of the town - including the shopping.

Torquay and nearby Jan Juc are home to some of Australia's best surfing beaches, in particular Bells Beach, home of the Rip Curl Pro and the world's largest surfing Museum, Surfworld Australia.
