Put the Australia Day weekend aside in January 2014 - the Festival of Sails in Geelong is the place to be!
The Festival of Sails is Victoria's oldest ongoing sporting event, and the largest annual keel boat regatta in the Southern Hemisphere. Annually, the event attracts not only huge numbers of yachts carrying over 4,500 sailors, but also provides a brilliant Shoreside Festival for all the family to enjoy.
The sailing program commences with the traditional Melbourne to Geelong Passage Race, followed by three days of exciting sailing in Geelong and Corio Bay, including the Melges 24 World Championship 2014.
The free program of activities in Geelong includes live entertainment, roving performers, gourmet food and wine, art and craft markets, a free interactive on and off-water 'Come and Try' Sports Zone, the Bay FM Fireworks Spectacular and lots more along the Geelong waterfront.

Bay FM Fireworks Spectacular
Festival of Sails will again host the popular Bay FM Fireworks Spectacular on the Geelong Waterfront, on Australia Day (Thursday 26th January 2012). The show will commence at sunset so make sure you bring the family down to the Geelong Waterfront and secure a spot on the grass in front of the free entertainment. Bay FM will again be programming the backing track for the show that will be simulcast on Bay FM 93.9.
'Go Sailing' Program
Yachting Victoria are offering an opportunity for anyone to try sailing for free in a safe and fun environment on the Waterfront in Geelong. 'Go Sailing' - Free learn to sail lessons with qualified instructors in Pacer dinghies.
