FaunaDiscovery Bay Coastal Park is excellent for visitors interested in observing bird life along the vast stretches of sandy beach. The Park is an important habitat for the endangered Hooded Plover and many other waders migrating from overseas. When walking above the high tide line, please watch for eggs, as nests can be found in very exposed locations on the beach, especially between August and February. Take care also not to disturb birds as they are very easily scared away from their nesting sites.
