The Bass Hills Classic ride in 2012, previously known as the Bridge to Bass Hills, now offers an optional run component providing the perfect training ground for Melbourne Ironman participants.

The common feedback from riders in this event has been the enjoyment of riding on quiet roads with the hills, twists and turns providing plenty of challenges. 100% of all routes this year will be on country roads. The vistas are superb with coastal and country views adding to an unforgettable feeling.

A choice of three rides are available at 72 kilometres, 112 kilometres and 152 kilometres. The run component is from 5 - 20 kilometres.

Other highlights of the previous events as judged by the riders include:
- Marshals sharing their friendly country hospitality
- Home made muffins, lemon slice and rum balls at the refreshment centres
- Well signed course
- Free authentic massages and SCENAR post ride
- A well organised event

This year complimentary refreshments and snacks will be provided either side of the ride and a subsidised Aussie barbecue post ride sponsored by Gravity Zero.

The Bass Hills Classic leaves from Woolami Race Track, 90 minutes from Melbourne.
