Overview

The fabled Lake House nestles on the shores of Lake Daylesford. 35 rooms and suites range from country house comfortable to sumptuous accommodation.

Gardens, cascade to a manicured foreshore. Works of art adorn walls and garden nooks. Some are by well known artist and proprietor Allan Wolf Tasker whose studio is open to hotel guests. Paths lead to lake walks and to the more rigorous hiking trails of Wombat Forest. A full sized tennis court and bocce area offer additional activity.

The multi award winning Lake House Salus Day Spa is a nine treatment oasis of tranquillity offering a myriad of indulgent treatments.

Situated amongst its own gardens, the Retreat at Lake House, offers a sumptuously appointed private country house within the Lake House grounds. A private massage pavilion and a butler delivering delicious food and drinks, add to this very special experience...

After a busy day, guests gather for drinks at the bar. Conversation is of 'holes in one' (despite the kangaroos), visits to quirky boutiques and galleries, rare finds in bookshops. At dinner, robust country air appetites are sated by contemporary seasonal menus featuring produce from local growers. In many cases, Executive Chef and leading light of Australia's foodie industry - Alla Wolf Tasker has been dealing with these for over two decades.

Waterfront Room

These picturesque rooms complete with balconies overlook lake Daylesford. They have a king bed, plush sofa and armchair with botanical prints. Provincial style chairs and desk are set beneath a collection of local historic photographs, prints and original artwork from Resident Artist Allan Wolf-Tasker's on-site studio. Individually configured and decorated rooms nestled between private courtyards, gardens and terraces - clustered around a stylishly appointed and comfortable lounge complete with billiard table and open fire.9

Waterfront Suite

With prime position overlooking the lagoon and the shores of lake Daylesford - each suite features superior king beds, plush sofa, with locally sourced Merino Wool throws, textured armchairs and soft furnishings in chartreuse, citron, champagne gold and mustard yellows. Suites feature original artwork from resident artist Allan Wolf-Tasker's on-site studio. A stone topped bar is stocked with regionally sourced sips and nibbles, Salus Spa's own sparkling mineral water, Nespresso Coffee machines. Ensuites have dual showers, double spa baths and heated bathroom floors. The Retreat

The Retreat is a secluded luxury Country House within the grounds of Lake House. Drawing on the architectural elements and village like cluster of the surrounding property, two beautifully appointed bedrooms have adjacent walk through dressing rooms and magnificent ensuites feature deep baths and separate generous showers.0

Local directions

From Melbourne - take the West Gate Bridge out of the city onto the Western Ring Road. Take a left turn off the Ring Road onto the Western freeway and continue for fifty minutes. Take the turn off to Daylesford - Ballan and continue for twenty minutes. Lake House will be on your left as you enter Daylesford before the main street.
