For 16 days, the Slow Food philosophy is explored through dinners, public talks, workshops, cooking demonstrations, films, tastings in Melbourne and events across regional Victoria. Food, pleasure, learning and conversation are at the heart of every event. Consider a caper inspired picnic in the Macedon Ranges, munch yabbies in the Otways or experience an Italian dinner prepared by Gippsland's Veneto chef. Learn the art of cheese making, plant a bush-food garden, design an organic veggie patch or watch the kids make Vietnamese pho soup. Stroll along the River Terrace and sample the best of Australia's food regions, or celebrate summer with us at the Slow Food Victoria dinner at Tjanabi. From Australia and around the globe, guest speakers will gather at BMW Edge to enlighten, enthral and inspire debate about the critical situation of food and drink on our planet. New this year is Feast on Film, featuring must-see documentaries such as the award-winning One Man, One Cow, One Planet. We have also invited people to pick up a camera and create their own short films about food for the Slow Shorts film competition.
