Cool Wine Challenge Dinner

Take two up and coming wine regions, a highly regarded chef and a very unique location and you have an evening that promises to be nothing short of exquisite. 2008 is the inaugural year of the Cool Wine Challenge Dinner.

The Alpine Valley Vignerons in conjunction with the Alpine Shire Council and Dinner Plain Management Committee challenges Wines Geelong to a wine duel to see who has the best wines in the consumer’s eyes, or mouths in this case – the mountains or the coast.

Set in the tranquil surroundings of the Onsen Retreat and Spa at Dinner Plain, these fine wines will be matched with an incredible menu designed by Michael Ryan from Tsubo and Range (Two Chefs Hats 2008) and cooked by Tsubo head chef, Hamish Nugent. 

Wine makers will try to win hearts with their stories, but it will all come down to your taste buds to determine who will be awarded ‘bragging rights’ for the 2008 challenge. 

On Saturday 14 June you are invited to take part in this special event.  Hosted at Dinner Plain, the Cool Wine Challenge Dinner is the ideal way to experience two wine regions, meet the makers and sample stunning cuisine, all in one evening.
