As Australia’s first arts centre established specifically for children, ArtPlay aims to stimulate creativity in kids up to the age of 12. A City of Melbourne initiative, activities are also constructed around the recognition that play is essential for the acquisition of physical, social, intellectual and emotional skills. At ArtPlay professional artists work with children and the diverse program includes painting, printmaking, music and drama workshops. All the fun, messy stuff that parents will be glad they don’t have to clean up after. The centre also includes a playground overlooking the Yarra where kids can continue burning off creative energy.
