Melbourne Aquarium

Melbourne Aquarium

Located on the banks of the Yarra River in the city centre, the state-of-the-art Melbourne Aquarium is home to thousands of creatures from the Southern Ocean.

Under the bay
Explore under the surface of Victoria's bays, estuaries and rivers in the habitats area and catch a glimpse of starfish, eels and turtles among the mangroves and rockpools.

Sharks and sea dragons
Be dazzled by the floor-to-ceiling coral atoll, the exotic array of neon sea jellies and sea dragons, then wander through transparent tunnels surrounded by sharks, stingrays, giant crabs and sea turtles.

Little fish
Children can see how fish view life underwater and dissect a fish via a computer screen at the interactive 'Fish Works'.

Underwater experiences
Prepare yourself for a simulated underwater roller-coaster ride or try the SharkWalker experience: breathe underwater with a custom-made helmet and walk among the sharks.
