The distinctive granite tors of the You Yangs rise abruptly from the flat volcanic plains, a short drive west of Melbourne. Flinders Peak is only 348 metres above sea level, but the views from the summit are superb, stretching from the city skyscrapers to Mount Macedon, Geelong and Corio Bay.

As well as the well-made path to the summit, the East-West Loop Track around the base of Flinders Peak offers great opportunities to view the area’s native birds and animals, including kangaroos, koalas, cockatoos and birds of prey. There is also an Aboriginal rock shelter near the Saddle picnic area.
