How to get there
Dinner Plain is 375 kilometres or approximately 4.5 hours from Melbourne on the Hume Freeway (M31) or the Princes Highway (A1) via the Great Alpine Road (B500).
Australia's highest commercial airport, Hotham Airport, is just 10 kilometres from Dinner Plain. Qantas flies direct from Sydney and Melbourne during the ski season. A number of charter operators also fly in year-round.
A regular shuttle bus service operates between Dinner Plain and Mount Hotham throughout the winter season. Christians Bus Services offer luxury 4WD service and coach travel, and Snowball Express offers daily services between Melbourne and Mount Hotham during the winter season. The Alps Bus Link Service operates three times a week throughout the year, linking with V-Line services from Bright and Omeo.
