Business travel

Melbourne

Melbourne is a great place to do business. Within easy access of the airport and other modes of transport, it offers a wide range of options to conduct and organise business.

Melbourne’s Central Business District is a quick 25 minutes in a taxi from the airport and designed around an easy to navigate grid system. Business travellers find getting from meeting A to meeting B as easy as jumping on a tram. Melbourne’s 9,000 city centre hotels are all that a business traveller could ask for, from five star luxury to great value known brands, and most are within walking distance of Melbourne’s arts, restaurant and nightlife precincts.

For meeting venues with a difference Melbourne’s got the lot. Have your business meeting at one of the hip venues at Federation Square, the opulent Crown Towers, or make use of Melbourne’s many sporting venues including the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground. The state-of-the-art Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre sits on the Yarra River and is in the heart of bustling Southbank, where everything is on your doorstep. It’s also only a short walk to Melbourne's city centre.

In 2009, the new Melbourne Convention Centre opened, stretching down to the revitalised Docklands precinct. With a 5,000 capacity Plenary Hall, this is the largest combined exhibition and convention facility in Australia.
