Films: Wander Victoria
Location: Noojee Trestle Bridge
Address: Mount Baw Baw Tourist Road, Noojee

Originally constructed in 1919 for the railway line from Noojee to Warragul, the Noojee Trestle Bridge is the tallest surviving wooden trestle bridge in Victoria. In 1939 the bridge was completely burnt down but it was rebuilt in the same year, so that's all water under the bridge.

The historical trestle bridge spans 102 meters and is 21 meters high. Set amid eucalypt and fern forest, it's a lovely spot for a wander. The bridge walk is six kilometres return, taking around two hours to complete and allowing just enough time to wonder where the second tallest surviving wooden trestle bridge is (we'll cross that bridge when we come to it).

From fridge to bridge, the Noojee Trestle Bridge is sometimes used as a site for the World's Longest Lunch, part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival.
