Films: Honest guy, Wander Victoria again
Location: Nightingale Bros Alpine Apples
Address: 708 Morses Creek Road, Wandiligong

Get crisp, locally grown apples for a song at the Nightingales' farm gate.

This family knows its apples – it started its orchard here in 1954 and has been growing (the family and the apples) ever since. Now one of the biggest apple growers in the southern hemisphere, the vast, alpine orchard produces from some six apple varieties including Granny Smith, Royal Gala and ever-popular Pink Lady.

Wander into Wandiligong Valley for farm gate sales seven days a week. Stock up on alpine apples, try to find out who names apple varieties, and pick up some treats for an open fire: they sell chestnuts, halzenuts and walnuts too. Wanderful.
