Film: Purple patch
Location: Lavandula Swiss/Italian Farm
Address: 350 Hepburn-Newstead Road, Shepherds Flat

Follow your nose and feel the flower power as you wander the aromatic grounds of this Swiss-Italian lavender haven.

Settled in the 1850s by Swiss-Italian migrants, Lavandula is home to a cluster of rustic stone farmhouse buildings surrounded by European gardens and fields of lavender.

Wander the gardens, climb the hill to the olive grove, relax by the creek, play a little petanque or shop for handmade lavender goods in the barn, where oils aint oils. History buffs, take an afternoon tour of the grounds and farmhouse for a glimpse of Italian rural life in 1860s Victoria.

For a taste of present day dolce vita, dine al fresco on European fare at La Trattoria. Sniff out fluffy lavender-infused scones and add some fun to your fizz with lavender-infused lemonade and sparkling wine.
