Calder Woodburn Memorial Avenue

In 1945, Mr Fen Woodburn planted 1406 trees along the Goulburn Valley Highway as a tribute to his son. Calder Woodburn died while serving in France with the Royal Australian Air Force.

In years to come, Fen planted more trees, now totalling 2457, uniquely all trees are a Eucalyptus species. The Avenue also serves as a memorial to those that lost their lives during World War 2. Memorial name plates are affixed to 110 of the trees.
