Enjoy a picnic or stay in one of the waterfront cabins at the Victoria Park Lake, where the surrounding parklands and walking and cycling paths are perfect to unwind and recharge.

Need to make a splash? Make the most of the state-of-the-art aquatic centre complete with pools, waterslide, spas and sauna at the Aquamoves complex on the western edge of the lake.

Cultural getaway

Check out the Shepparton Art Museum's collections of historical and contemporary ceramics, as well as rotating exhibitions in a variety of media. Delve into the history of the Yorta Yorta people at the Bangerang Cultural Centre and check out Aboriginal artworks at the Gallery Kaiela. Once you've worked up an appetite, head over to Emerald Bank Leisure Land and satisfy your sweet tooth at the Windmill Chocolate Shop and Cafe or try some locally produced and made food at 7 Creeks Bakery.

Savour the outdoors

Dive into your Shepparton holiday and get a taste of the great outdoors. Traverse the scenic surroundings along the many cycle paths lining The Murray – perfect for leisurely rides and mountain bike adventures alike. Continue your travels to where the Goulburn and Broken rivers meet. Walk the nature trails beneath giant river red gums, climb into a canoe and explore the waterways, or hit the greens at the Shepparton Golf Club.

Farm fresh foods

Dotted through the region are a number of fruit farms and orchards with sumptuous berries, apples, grapes, avocados and more to delight the palate. Visit Shepparton's vineyards, dairies and orchards for some of the best olives, gourmet cheeses and wines in Victoria. Drive out to nearby Goulburn Valley to start a self-guided farm gate tour, where the food doesn't get any fresher!
