Riverside getaways

Relax and recharge on the stretches of sandy river beaches between Yarrawonga and Barmah, on the traditional lands of the Yorta Yorta people. Thompson's Beach, Australia's largest inland beach is shaded by towering river red gums during the day and is floodlit in the evenings. Enjoy fresh local fare from the Beach Cafe and then settle in for an afternoon of fishing, water-skiing or canoeing.

Hire a houseboat from Cobram Barooga Boat Hire and live on the water as you move to a different beach each day, or walk around Quinn Island to see the abundant wildlife.

Play a round of golf at the Cobram Barooga Golf Club's famous old course or at the modern links-style west course for wider fairways and larger greens. Alternatively, head off to the Barooga Sports Club to try out the 18-hole golf course and bowling green.

A little night music

Attend music and cultural events staged in Cobram and the surrounding area by Moira Arts & Culture Inc. Catch intimate performances by visiting folk, classical and jazz musicians or join in one of the popular high teas.

Gourmet country

Situated in the heart of Victoria's 'food bowl' and the largest stone fruit producing area in Australia, Cobram is home to the familiar Devondale Murray Goulburn dairy brand. Set out along the Farm Gate Trail for local produce, direct from the producers. Foodies will have a chance to stock up on strawberries, cheese, stone fruit and citrus, and then sample award winning wines at local cellar doors.
