Penguin suits

The daily parade of little penguins draws visitors from around the globe. Up early and off to swim more than 100 kilometres a day, these little guys arrive home from work at dusk, treating visitors to a viewing of rare quality.

Stroll along the boardwalks at The Nobbies headland and wait for the thrill of thunderous blowholes, or sign up for a seal cruise from Cowes to get up close the 5000 strong colony of fur seals. Head inland for a close encounter of the koala kind or take in a sunset at the picturesque Rhyll Inlet amongst flocks of migratory birds.

Coast to coast

Get the sand between your toes and explore the wild beaches and rock formations of the Bass Strait coastline. Find a sheltered bay and set up the stumps for some beach cricket, or ignite the surfer within and rip into the perfect peaks of Cape Woolamai.
