Overview

Bring an appetite and discover the bountiful offerings of Phillip Island, from freshly caught seafood to al fresco dining and locally grown produce. Settle into the island lifestyle and take your pick of renowned restaurants, family-run wineries and quaint beachside cafes.

Watch the waves

Head to Cowes for a diverse range of choices including Japanese tapas at Youki's and a meal straight from the Med at Beach HQ. Relax with a coffee and views over Westernport Bay at The Waterboy Cafe, or cruise on to Newhaven to dine out by the water at Saltwater Phillip Island.

Coastal casual

Get a taste of native Australian bush food at Wild Food Farm and pick from an innovative plant-based menu at Island Whole Foods. Check in for tapas and cocktails at Kelp San Remo and pair drinks with Asian-inspired plates at cosy coastal bar Bang Bang Bar and Food.

Winemakers and brewers

A reputation for cool climate wines with full fruit flavours makes cellar door tastings a must. Sip on a sparkling shiraz at the acclaimed Purple Hen Winery or combine local wine with live music and visual art at Phillip Island Winery. Craft brew aficionados will want to hang for a while at Ocean Reach Brewing or the Rusty Water Brewery for handcrafted ales and pub grub.

Get fresh

Start the day with a brew from BeanD or fresh pastries from San Remo Bakehouse, then source seafood straight from the boat at the San Remo Fisherman's Co-op, or from Bass Strait Direct in Newhaven. Load up on gourmet staples at The Store, in Ventnor. Check out the monthly Churchill Island farmers' market and fill the boot with fresh veg, fruit and local produce, including gourmet delights from Bassine Specialty Cheeses and English-inspired meat treats from Hill Top Farm Meats.
