Polperro Dolphin and Seal Swims

Pull on a warming wetsuit and join the Polperro team when the bay's unique and often curious Burrunan dolphins come to visit. Frolic with playful fur seals and visit seabird nesting sites. All equipment is provided and instruction of its use. This, and the crew's careful training and supervision of passengers, mean that even those with basic swimming skills can enjoy this experience as well.

Sightseers get a birds' eye view from the deck as they take in the spectacular scenery and wildlife that abounds. Polperro crew welcome children on board and ensure that these trips educate and entertain them. Children are immersed in a learning environment that enhances their understanding of ecology.

Passenger numbers are strictly limited which means everyone on each tour has ample opportunity to get wet, or watch from the deck. Reef and seal swims are part of Polperro trips as well. These are revelatory experiences, even for locals, as the bay's rich aquatic life is a surprisingly well-kept secret.

Swimming with dolphins is a rare and magical experience, so who better to help you connect with these magnificent creatures than the people who have been making the introductions in Port Phillip Bay the longest, Polperro Dolphin Swims.

The Muir family established Polperro Dolphin Swims in 1986. Named after their classic, lovingly maintained boat, the multi-award winning Polperro has led the bay in research and environmentally responsible dolphin and seal tourism. These wildly exciting yet gentle interactions attract visitors from all over the world.

The crew's careful training and supervision of passengers, mean that even non-swimmers can enjoy this exciting experience.

The Polperro departs from Sorrento pier twice daily from October to May. Passenger numbers are strictly limited so everyone has ample opportunity to get wet, or watch dolphins at play from the deck. Reef and seal swims are often part of Polperro trips as well. These are also revelatory experiences, even for most locals, as the bay's rich aquatic life is a surprisingly well-kept secret.

All gear, including wetsuits and snorkels are provided along with change areas below deck. On chilly days, Polperro saloon cabin is warmly welcoming, as is the complimentary tea, coffee, hot chocolate and delicious scones, freshly baked on board by the crew.

Polperro Hot Springs 'Double Dip' package and other wonderful combinations are on offer to extend and enhance your stay. Book and save. Please enquire

They are the cherry on top of a memorable experience, which saw Polperro Dolphin Swims enter the Victorian Tourism Awards Hall of Fame in 2001, after winning the environmental tourism category three years running.

Also winning the Frankston and Mornington Peninsula Excellence in Business awards in 2011 and 2012 for Environmental Sustainability. In 2013 Polperro was listed in the top three sustainable tourism businesses in the Victorian Premier's Awards.
