Cyborb Pianist
Pianist - Zubin Kanga
Live electronics - Benjamin Carey

Fresh from his acclaimed 2015 Dark Twin tour, Zubin Kanga returns in a program of newly commissioned works by some of the hottest composers from Australia and Europe. 3D motion sensors shape the sounds of Patrick Nunn’s Boulez-meets-The-Matrix Morphosis, while Benjamin Carey’s Taking the Auspices features a duet with an artificial intelligence that imitates the flocking of birds.

John Cage’s Sonatas and Interludes
Pianist Zubin Kanga
Sonatas and Interludes is contemporary genius and iconoclast John Cage’s puckish percussive masterwork.

Screws, rubber, plastic and other materials invade the piano to transform it into a one-man orchestra of kaleidoscopic colours, full of gongs, bells and drums. Combining Indian philosophy and aesthetics, the sounds of Indonesian gamelan and the spirit of American post-war experimental music, it is both deep meditation and cosmic dance.
