Curator Tour - 1966: The Year That Changed The World

03 96 618 100

4 Oct 2016

Dr Ian Jackson will lead a guided tour of this exhibition exploring the events of 1966, a momentous year for Australia. In 1966, thousands of Australian service men and women served in Southeast Asia at the height of the Cold War. Australia redoubled its commitment to the Vietnam War by sending a complete task force with, controversially, the first conscripts to serve overseas since the Second World War. At the Battle of Long Tan, the Task Force faced its hardest test so far.

Arrive 5.30pm for a 6pm start. Bookings are essential as spaces are limited.

1966: The year that changed the world is on display in the Galleries of Remembrance until 2 July 2017. Open daily 10am until 5pm, last entry 4.30pm. Entry is by donation.
