Behind the Wire is an exhibition about Vietnam veterans, their jobs and their experiences, in their words. Susan Gordon-Brown photographed and interviewed Vietnam veterans from all over Australia, asking them about their training prior to Vietnam, daily tasks on tour and life since their return to Australia. The exhibition includes National Servicemen and regulars, soldiers, sailors, airmen and nurses of many different ranks and roles.

Susan Gordon-Brown is an acclaimed Australian photographer who documents important Australian issues and topics, from portraits of intrepid Antarctic tradies to drought ravaged landscapes. Susan has a talent for portraits that show the true person, as her subjects immediately relax in her company.

Behind the Wire will be open to the public from 13 August 2016 – 23 October 2016 in the Shrine of Remembrance Visitor Centre. Open daily 10am – 5pm. Entry is by donation.
