Benalla Visitor Information Centre

03 57 621 749

The Benalla Visitor Information Centre is located at 14 Mair Street Benalla, opposite the Benalla Art Gallery on Lake Benalla. It is open from 9am-5pm daily except for Christmas Day.

The Benalla Visitor Centre is staffed by volunteers who can help you enjoy Benalla, with advice on attractions and accommodation.

The building also houses the Costume and Kelly Museum which has a small entry fee. The Museum has an excellent display of Ned Kelly memorabilia, including the Green silk sash Ned was wearing when he was captured in 1880 during the siege at Glenrowan. This is displayed in an original police cell that was in use during the reign of the Kelly Gang. A well produced video can be viewed as part of the Kelly display.

Local sons Weary Dunlop and Captain Hector 'Hec' Waller are fondly remembered in a display of some of their war time items. Costumes from different eras are also exhibited.

Ned Kelly, Weary Dunlop and Benalla souvenirs are also available.
