Resorts for all abilities
Powder hounds rush to the region's dynamic resorts at Mount Buller, Falls Creek, Mount Hotham, Mount Buffalo and Dinner Plain, which have a multitude of runs suitable for beginner, intermediate and advanced levels as well as extensive lift networks and snowmaking systems to ensure constant premium skiing conditions.
While seasoned skiers blitz the black runs, patient ski school professionals cater admirably to the wobblier needs of learner skiers. All resorts offer skiing and snowboarding lessons catering to a wide mix of levels, as well as equipment hire.
Snowboarding the High Country
Snowboarders will love the big three alpine resorts of Falls Creek, Hotham and Mount Buller, which together boast a staggering 250 downhill runs across 50 lifts, and 10 terrain parks with enough features to keep you in the air and pumped up. There's ample space for beginners to learn the ropes, back country excitement for intermediate and advanced boarders, and challenging courses for experts seeking World Cup standards.
Going cross country
Cross-country trails abound around the High Country's ski resorts, offering different perspectives of the mountains.
The 10-kilometre trail from Dinner Plain up to Mount Hotham is a test of stamina through beautiful bushland and snow gums. Falls Creek is the hub for a labyrinth of cross country trails across the Bogong High Plains. There are epic touring opportunities through the breathtaking ranges around Mount Stirling, close to Mount Buller, which also offers nine kilometres of cross country trails.

Snow fun around the clock
It's possible to be out on the runs most days and nights in the ski season, with Hotham, Falls Creek and Mount Buller turning on the lights and offering night skiing and snowboarding.
